The Valley Time Forgot

Warwan is the Kashmir few travellers ever see: a deep, emerald valley of wooden villages and barley fields walled off from the world, reached by crossing from Ladakh's Suru valley over Lonvilad Gali. The contrast — from Zanskar's moonscape into sudden green — is unforgettable.

The Route

From Panikhar in the Suru valley, camps at Denora and the Kaintal glacier stage the crossing of Lonvilad Gali (14,500 ft), with a long glacier-margin day before descending to Humpet's meadows and the villages of Sukhnai and Inshan.

Best Time and Difficulty

July–September. Difficult: remoteness, a glacier day, and long stages demand experience and a well-organized team. Road access at both ends is slow and weather-prone — build buffer days and verify current local conditions before travel.

Detailed day-wise itinerary, current price and departure dates are shared on enquiry. Conditions, permits and regulations change season to season — we confirm everything current at booking.
