Five Temples, One Legend

The Panch Kedar are five temples where parts of Shiva, in bull form, are said to have surfaced: Kedarnath (hump), Tungnath (arms), Rudranath (face), Madhyamaheshwar (navel) and Kalpeshwar (hair). Together they form Garhwal's greatest sacred circuit — part pilgrimage, part serious trekking.

The Walks

Each temple is its own trek: Kedarnath's 16–18 km pilgrim trail, Tungnath's short climb from Chopta, Rudranath's demanding forest route from Sagar, Madhyamaheshwar from Ransi, and Kalpeshwar's gentle walk in the Urgam valley. Rudranath is the toughest and most beautiful of the five.

Season and Logistics

Temple opening seasons run roughly May–October (each on its own calendar). A full circuit needs 10–14 days with road transfers between trailheads; many pilgrims spread it across seasons.

Difficulty

Moderate overall — individual days are manageable, but the circuit's cumulative distance rewards steady fitness. Homestay-and-dhaba culture along the routes keeps logistics simple with local support.

Detailed day-wise itinerary, current price and departure dates are shared on enquiry. Conditions, permits and regulations change season to season — we confirm everything current at booking.
