The Valley Climbers Whisper About
Miyar is famous among alpinists for its granite big walls, but trekkers get the gentler share: a long, gorgeous valley of wildflower meadows (locals call parts of it the 'valley of flowers of Lahaul'), grazing yaks and glacier views, all in the rain shadow's reliable weather.
The Route
From roadheads beyond Udaipur, the trail runs up-valley past Khanjar and Tharang camps to the glacier snout region around 13,800 ft, with optional days exploring side valleys beneath the walls. Return follows the same open valley.
Best Time and Difficulty
June–September, monsoon-safe thanks to the rain shadow. Moderate: distances add up but gradients stay kind — a superb pick for trekkers wanting genuine remoteness without technical ground.
