Chamunda Devi, a fierce form of Durga, is enshrined on the banks of the Baner river against a Dhauladhar backdrop near Palampur. Known locally as Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham, it is one of the Kangra valley's most powerful and atmospheric shrines.

The temple complex includes a cave-like shrine and riverside ghats. Its setting beneath the snow wall of the Dhauladhar makes it a striking stop between Dharamshala and Palampur.
