The Serious Crossover

Bali Pass links the gentle Har Ki Dun valley with the pilgrim trail of Yamunotri over a 16,200 ft crossing — a big jump in seriousness from the region's easier treks. The reward is Ruinsara Tal's alpine amphitheatre and a summit-day panorama over Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch and Kalanag.

The Route

From Sankri via Taluka, the route follows the Supin to Seema, diverts to Ruinsara Tal (11,800 ft), then climbs through Odari to the high camp. Pass day is long and steep on snow, descending sharply toward Yamunotri and the roadhead at Janki Chatti.

Best Time

Late May–June and September–early October. The pass carries snow in both windows; post-monsoon offers firmer footing and clearer skies.

Difficulty

Difficult: high camps above 14,000 ft, a steep snow ascent and an unrelenting descent. This is for trekkers with prior high-altitude experience; guided support and an ice-axe/microspike setup are standard.

Detailed day-wise itinerary, current price and departure dates are shared on enquiry. Conditions, permits and regulations change season to season — we confirm everything current at booking.
